Description
The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) covers any equipment used at work for lifting or lowering loads, including anchoring or supporting attachment.
These regulations stipulate that the equipment is marked with the appropriate information for its safe use, such as safe working loads.
Daily and weekly checks should be made in addition to a thorough recorded examination every 6 to 12 month. If the equipment is installed, the location must also be examined at the following points:
- after installation but before first use
- after assembly but before first use on a site or in a new location
In the result of an inspection failure, remove insert and inform a supervisor.
